Daughters, Robert
Robert Daughters' expressionist work celebrated the landscapes and culture of the American Southwest was born in Missouri in 1929. After finishing high school, he entered the Army, serving in Germany. After the service, he studied at the Kansas City Art Institute and School of Design. He worked as as commercial artist as as a curator at the St. Joseph Museum of Natural History. He was a partner in a highly awarded Kansas City advertising firm. During that time, he first visited New Mexico, returning in 1970 as a resident. He divided his time for 20 years between Santa Fe, NM and Arkansas. He traveled extensively throughout the world with his wife Sandra. He and Sandra died within months of each other in 2013 after 60 years of a happy and adventurous marriage.
