Georgia O'Keeffe

1887-1986, Georgia O'Keeffe is known for her iconic landscapes and floral paintings.  In addition to her powerful images, she's also know for her pithy quotes, such as: “I often painted fragments of things because it seemed to make my statement as well as or better than the whole could.”  “When you take a flower in your hand and really look at it, it's your world for the moment.”  and, "I hate flowers."
